Getting Started
All you need is a GTFS feed. If your feed is available at a public URL, connect it to RoutePress and your pages will stay in sync whenever the feed changes. If it is not publicly available, you can upload the GTFS ZIP file directly through your dashboard. There is nothing to install or host.
Connecting your GTFS and generating route pages takes under a minute. The rest is choosing colors, deciding which page components to show, reviewing the result, and pasting the embed into your website. Most agencies can complete the basic setup in under an hour.
Usually not. If you can embed a YouTube video, you can embed RoutePress: paste a small snippet into your website or content-management system.
No. RoutePress pages embed inside your existing website, under your own header, navigation, and footer. Riders remain on your site.
Yes. Request a preview using your public feed URL and we will build a real route page using your routes, stops, and timetables.
How It Works
If your feed is connected by URL, RoutePress automatically updates your pages whenever the feed changes. If you upload your feed manually, you’ll need to upload a new GTFS ZIP file each time you publish a new schedule.
If your feed is connected by URL, RoutePress continues serving the last working version so riders can still access your pages. We’ll flag the issue in your dashboard and show why the feed is failing and how long it has been unavailable.
Yes. RoutePress displays active GTFS Realtime service alerts on affected route pages and the System Map, including alerts for specific stops when provided in your feed. Staff can also create manual alerts, assign them to routes or stops, and schedule when they appear and expire.
Yes, if your agency publishes a GTFS Realtime Trip Updates feed. When a rider selects a stop, RoutePress displays live departure predictions and delay information when available. Trips without a live prediction continue to show their scheduled times.
Yes. RoutePress uses purpose-built desktop, tablet, and phone layouts to ensure smooth operation on any size screen.
Most feeds need some presentation cleanup. RoutePress lets you override rider-facing route names, colors, and numbers, upload custom route badges and split route variants without changing the GTFS file consumed by other systems. RoutePress also validates a feed when it is connected and reports any issues it finds, including route colors that may be hard to read.
Procurement
RoutePress charges one annual rate per qualifying published fixed route, subject to the current annual minimum. Every feature is included at every size, and there are no usage, rider, traffic, or staff-seat charges.
The current rate is $350 per route per year, with an annual minimum of $1,750. See pricing for an estimate against your own route count.
Each published fixed route your agency presents to riders generally counts as one route. Directional variants, branches, short turns, trippers, special-event service, seasonal service, and other patterns riders recognize as part of the same route do not count separately.
Yes. If your agency requires a purchase order, we can accept it before invoicing and provide Net 30 payment terms, subject to the accepted Order Form.
We’ll review your details, confirm your route count with you, then send a formal quote and order form along with the rest of the procurement paperwork.
Your price stays fixed for the active term. RoutePress supports added routes without a prorated invoice or mid-term true-up, and removing routes does not create a mid-term credit. Route-count changes are reflected when the next renewal quote is prepared.
No, unless a signed Order Form says otherwise. About two months before the term ends, we’ll review your qualifying route count with you and send a renewal quote, giving your agency time to complete its purchasing process. Full renewal terms are available in our Terms of Service.
Accessibility
RoutePress route pages are built and tested against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, the technical standard used by the U.S. Department of Justice’s Title II web accessibility rule for state and local governments. Timetables use semantic HTML, controls support keyboard operation and visible focus, color contrast is measured, and reduced-motion preferences are respected. Accessibility remains a shared responsibility: your surrounding website, linked files, content choices, and embed implementation also affect the final experience.

No. RoutePress works in a standard web browser on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
Security & Data
Your agency does. Your GTFS feed, branding, images, and text remain yours. RoutePress receives only the limited permission needed to store, process, and display that content as part of the service.
No. Route pages and System Maps do not require rider accounts, set RoutePress cookies, or run advertising or analytics scripts. A rider’s browser does contact the map-tile provider and Google Fonts; those providers receive the ordinary network information associated with those requests, such as the rider’s IP address. You can invite as many staff members as you need. Collaborators can manage your GTFS feed, route pages, branding, and service alerts. Owners have additional privileges that include managing team roles and billing. Every agency account must have at least one Owner.

Trip planners answer, “How do I get from A to B?” RoutePress helps your own website answer, “How does this transit service work?” It gives riders an agency-branded way to explore routes, stops, timetables, alerts, and the full system without leaving your site; and it gives staff control over presentation without changing the GTFS used by other systems.
